Dawson is a progressive community in the heart of the farm land. We are
known for our gnomes located throughout the community. The Library houses
many gnomes that have been hand carved by a local artist, the gnomes are
carved out to replicate a selected person from the community. The City Park
also is home to many gnomes made out of cement, it is a fun place to visit
and spend the day. There is an outdoor swimming pool, volleyball court,
tennis courts, basketball court, softball complex and playground equipment.
If you're planning on staying, the City of Dawson has a campground with ten
camp areas that have electrical hook-ups and water service. There is a dump
station within two blocks of the campground. There are three shelterhouses and
playground equipment.
The Picket Fence Motel is located next to Highway 212 and the Swimming Pool Park.
