Special Programs
Summer Reading Program: This program is open for all children ages Pre-K through sixth grade and runs from June through August.  The children read books at home, come in and tell the director about their books.  They can earn coupons and buy prizes throughout the summer.
Reading for the Sight-Impaired: Offered for anyone who wishes to be read to, this program takes place at 2:00 p.m. every Friday in the Conference Room.  The reader will read selections from the Dawson Sentinel, along with other items of interest.

The library moved into its new facility on June 1, 1998.  The former armory building was reconstructed to house the public library as well as ten luxury apartments for senior residents.  This dual use of a historic building has proved to be a unique and complimentary project.  The use of wood, iron railings, and a deep red carpet enhance the art deco design of the library.  This project is a "must see" for visitors to the Dawson community.

The Dawson Public Library is a member of the Pioneerland Library System.  The system card  catalog can be accessed here.
