Welcome to the Dawson Area Chamber of Commerce Monthly Newsletter. We wanted to create another communication tool for our members and community to stay up to date on events happening in our community. Board Member Change
Dave Hickey agreed to join the Chamber Board. He had previously served on the board for 13 years. Dave replaces Pam Lehman who recently resigned from the Board. Thank you to Pam for all her work on the Board as past President and serving on various committees and events. Thank you also to Dave for agreeing to serve on the once Board again.
Just a reminder that Chamber Membership dues should be sent in by ASAP. Your membership provides you with opportunities to cash Chamber Dollars, participate in numerous chamber events and great networking opportunities. 2018 Hanging Flower Baskets
We are looking for sponsors and donations for the hanging baskets that we have on our main street. The cost to sponsor a hanging flower basket is $195. If you are unable to sponsor a basket, please consider making a donation to the hanging flower basket fund. Sponsors and donors will be recognized in the paper the week of Riverfest.

The Dawson Chamber of Commerce and the Dawson Sentinel are offering a Business Spotlight feature for local businesses. The Chamber will sponsor $100 towards the cost, the business will pay $100, and the Dawson Sentinel will provide the remaining $200 cost for the half page ad. The business can supply a few photos, or the Sentinel will take the photos for your business. Fagen Bus Tour

The Lac qui Parle Historical Society is sponsoring a bus tour to the Andrew Volstead Home Museum and the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum in Granite Falls. Our first stop in Granite Falls will be at the Andrew Volstead Home Museum. After touring there for about an hour, we will then go to lunch at The Rock, a new restaurant in Granite Falls. After lunch (approximately 1:00) we will go to the Fagen Fighters WWII Museum. Departure from the Fagen Museum will be at 4:00 (or earlier if everyone is finished looking).
