Phase 2 Utility Work Starting


Starting April 24th, temporary water will be hooked up between Spruce and 7th along with 8th Street between Chestnut and Pine.  Underground work will resume May 1.  There will be a detour starting May 8th.  Current plans will divide Main Street (6th Street) into two work sections.  Work will start in May from Chestnut going South with Chestnut going North to begin in mid-June.

Blandin Foundation Grant


The city of Dawson was awarded $70,000 grant funds with $5,000 additional funds donated by Johnson Memorial Health Services and Farmers for Dawson.  With the generous $80,000, Dawson will benefit with a new tennis court and basketball court, wind enclosure, and grills.  Also as part of the grant, there will be kayaks and paddle boats purchased to be checked out and used on the river.  The bid process is open and will be closing mid-March with the project to be completed by Fall 2023.  Dawson is excited about the new updates and encourage families, visitors and residents to use the new ammenities.

Small Cities Grant Program


Dawson is in need of licensed contractors that are lead certified to bid on residential projects within our community.  If you know someone that would be interested in learning about the work available, please contact theCity Office for more information.  This is a fantastic program for our community and we hope to find the contractors needed to help complete our grant for 18 homeowners.
